Online Hangman here works like a private table for two. One player creates a room and shares a link or a 4-letter code, and the other opens it on any phone, tablet or computer. Pick Take turns to swap secret words, or Race to see who cracks the same random word first. Every guess shows up on both screens right away.
Two ways to play online
In Take turns mode, one player types a secret word and an optional clue, and the other player guesses it. The person choosing can watch every letter land as it happens. After each round the jobs swap, so both of you get to set a puzzle.
In Race mode, the game picks one random word from the word lists and gives it to both of you at once. You each guess on your own board and see how far your rival has got. The first player to spell it out takes the point, and if both of you run out of guesses the round is a draw.
How the private room works
A room is a direct link between two browsers. The four letters are simply the address your friend's browser dials, and after that the guesses travel straight between your devices. Names, words and scores are never saved on our side, and the room is gone once both tabs close.
Only the person with your code or link can join, and a room holds exactly two players. A few school, office or hotel networks block direct browser links. If yours will not connect, switching one device to mobile data usually fixes it.

Frequently asked questions
How do I play Hangman online with a friend?
Tap Create room, then send the link or the 4-letter code to your friend. When they join, choose a mode and tap Start game. Both screens show the same round in real time.
Does my friend need an account or an app?
No. There are no accounts, emails or downloads on this site. Your friend only needs a web browser and your link or code.
What is the difference between Take turns and Race?
Take turns means one player chooses a secret word and the other guesses it, then you swap. Race gives you both the same random word, and whoever solves it first scores the point.
Can we play on a phone and a computer together?
Yes. Any modern browser works, so one player can use a laptop while the other plays on a phone or tablet.
Can more than two people join one room?
No, each room is for two players only. For a bigger group, open a second room or put the classic game on one shared screen and play in teams.
What happens if one of us closes the tab?
If the guest drops out, they can type the same code again and the game carries on with the score kept. If the host closes the tab, the room ends and a new one has to be created.
Is anything about our game stored?
No. The guesses pass directly between the two browsers, so names, secret words and scores never sit on a server.
Why will the room not connect?
Some strict school, office and hotel networks block direct browser connections. Check the four letters, then try mobile data or a home network on one of the devices.
